APM Fine Wine Index©

The APM Fine Wine Index© tracks the price movements of the fifty most important wines in the investment market, weighted to reflect the significance of each, across 12 vintages.

The data is formed of the average market price of each component wine from any vintage in which it was produced over the last 12 years; i.e. younger wines with the longest forward yield curve and the greatest availability, thereby representing those most frequently traded and of greatest significance to the investment market.

We believe that the index is the most meaningful measure of the true overall performance of the market as experienced by the private investor.  Whilst many indices are based on trade-to-trade transaction prices, auction results or are limited to a narrow market selection, our data is drawn from a vast range of real-time live offers as posted on price comparison website wine-searcher by over 20,000 merchants and vintners.

Elsewhere, the market - as defined by the London International Vintners Exchange's (www.liv-ex.com) benchmark 100 Index - continues to show impressive growth. The value of the index as of 31st December 2010 was 336.2 representing an increase of 40.5% in 2010.
